Looking Back At 2022 for Ryley Wealth Management
Ryley Wealth Management has had an exciting year in 2022, from running charity fundraisers to welcoming new starters and everything in between. We want to share with you some of the highlights from the year and celebrate our team’s successes.
We kicked off the year by celebrating 23 years since the start of Ryley Wealth Management back in 1999, when our CEO David Ryley began his journey – armed with just a printer and a phone! Since then, the company has only grown larger, with 2022 seeing many new faces join the team. From Administrators to Paraplanners and Financial Planners, we have welcomed lots of new staff across both out offices in Nottingham and Kirton in Lindsey, as the company grows and continues to deliver an outstanding level of service.
Ryley Wealth Management were nominated for multiple awards in 2022 including ‘Professional Services – Finance’ at the Business Masters Awards; and for two awards of the Nottinghamshire Business Awards – ‘Commitment to People Development’ and ‘Excellence in Customer Service’. Our CEO David Ryley was also nominated for the ‘Professional Services Leader of the Year’ award at the East Midlands Leadership Awards at the beginning of the year, which was a huge achievement.
Many of the staff have also pursued professional development journeys, with several of our support staff achieving St. James’ Place Accreditations. Congratulations to Laura Platt, Lisa Pope, Mark Jones, Kerry Croston, Fernanda Partridge and Lauren Kier, who this year all successfully completed their Silver Accreditation, as well as to Nicola Hatton and Steve Morris who achieved Gold Accreditation in 2022. In addition, our Marketing Executive Elspeth Green received two certificates from the Chartered Institute of Marketing and is currently working on her third.
We also saw several members of our team promoted up into new positions, recognising their hard work and effort on behalf of the business. Nicole Nairne was promoted into a new role as a Trainee Paraplanner this year, whilst Administrators Kerry Lee and Nicole Hatton were both promoted to Senior Administrators. We’re very excited to see how they progress in their new roles in 2023!
Our Financial Advisers have also had a successful year, with every single one of our advisers achieving Top Rated Advisor status from VouchedFor and The Times, noting them as being amongst the very best advisers in the country. We want to thank all our clients who left their Financial Advisers a review and we are looking forward to seeing their listings in The Times paper early next year. They’ll hopefully also be joined by our newest Financial Planners Gabriella Witek-Morgan and Bradley James, who will both be joining the company in the new year.
Charity endeavours are always a focus at Ryley Wealth Management and 2022 is no different. There have been lots of charity events and fundraising endeavours this year but one of the most notable was our successful charity golf day with Invictus Communications, which raised over £5,000 for the Rosie May Foundation and St. James’s Place Foundation.
Meanwhile, Financial Planner Paul Waites was involved with the Teddies for Loving Care Charity, raising almost £200 for charity with a Christmas raffle. We also want to spotlight our colleagues Lauren Jackson, Zoe Osborne and Alex Martin de Sa, who raised a total of over £2,500 for Cancer Research UK after taking on the 10k Shine Night Walk Nottingham. Brilliant work everyone!
Alongside our fundraising events, RWM Paraplanner and CSR champion Zoe Osborn organised a team of staff to not only hit the streets and volunteer to collect litter as a part of the Nottingham Clean Champions scheme, but also to help at Summerwood Community Garden – making it a welcoming place for all.
We also extended our professional development efforts to an exciting challenge with the Nottingham Trent University, taking on a team of three students to create a video for the practice. The team were a pleasure to have on board and we wish them continued good luck with their studies in 2023.
Year on year a huge part of our mission is to engage with both our clients and the wider community. With there being an element of uncertainty in the markets for 2022, these touch points have been more important than ever. One event that was particularly important for us was our Autumn 2022 seminar with St. James’s Place Wealth Management’s Senior Investment Consultant, Darren Johnson at Whatton House. We had a full house, and fantastic feedback from clients for Darren’s talk on ‘Investing in a High Inflation Environment’, which helped to provide some welcome perspective during a time of uncertainty.
With a growing team, charity fundraisers and lots of exciting events, 2022 has been another successful year for Ryley Wealth Management. We are continually proud of the staff for contributing to our growth and development as a company. We are looking forward to another big year in 2023 with lots of adventures on the horizon.
