Opposite: Tracey Parker of The Ben Parker Trust Fund, Will Diggins and Kieran Lynch of Ryley Wealth Management
The Ben Parker Trust Fund* began in March 2004, and the main aim of The Ben Parker Trust Fund is to help give families of children fighting cancer or leukemia the chance to heal, recuperate and create happy memories by the seaside in a safe and comfortable environment.
Their first charity fundraiser was a huge success and raised £11,000 through a massive cabaret event and auction evening in Ilkeston. With this money, the Trust bought a caravan at the Haven holiday site in Mablethorpe – the very first ‘Ben’s Den’. From then on, the caravan has provided free holidays for families with children diagnosed with cancer and leukemia.
The Trust works closely with CLIC Sargent, who refer the families to them, and Haven, who kindly gift free entertainment passes for the families to take full advantage of the site, without spending a penny.
As representatives of St. James’s Place Wealth Management, Will and Kieran were able to organise funding from The St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation, a grant-giving charity, to go towards purchasing a new caravan for for the Trust.
